CD selection : El Buen camino (Sony Jazz ; 1998) |
This percussion
explorer worked with groups of international fame like El
Trabuco Venezolano and Adrenalina Caribe. He is initiated to the sacred Cuban bata drums, and his quest also led him to Puerto Rico, where his work with Cachete Maldonado and Giovanni Hidalgo impregnated him with original African rhythms, the bomba and the plena, which he uses with advantage in his Caribbean jazz . Cimmaron, recorded in Venezuela and hard to find in France, features Orlando Valle (ex-Irakere flutist). In 1998, this Parisian scenes habitué releases the very good El buen camino, which contributes to the recognition of his talent by a widened audience. |
