This instrument is used like the guïro. It is made of a
lower jaw lower of horse (or donkey). The percussionnist scrapes the teeth row with a
stick.
QUINTO
Drum of African origin, with a surface for striking smaller than the conga. It produces a high-pitched sound, and its speed and its
nervousness make of it a percussion of choice for the improvisation. It is sometimes
indicated under the name requinto .
